The Common Palmfly (Elymnias hypermnestra agina) is a medium-sized butterfly that feeds on various types of palms. The Common Palmfly is very skittish, flitting off in short hops when approached.

The Common Palmfly has dark brown wings with scalloped edges. It has a lighter spot on its forewing, and a white spot on its hindwing, but since the species is highly variable, these features might be absent in particular individuals.
