What are mammals?
Mammals are warm-blooded vertebrates of the class Mammalia that produce milk and have fur or hair. They have a wide variety of forms, from tiny shrews to massive whales. Although most mammals travel on four limbs, aquatic mammals have evolved to use flippers and tails, while some mammals like humans have evolved to be bipedal (walking on two legs). Many mammals have specialised adaptations, such as the long sticky tongue of the Sunda Pangolin that is used to collect ants and termites. This versatility makes them one of the most widespread animal groups, occupying every major habitat on Earth.
