Habitat and ecology
Banded Bullfrogs are very adaptable and can be found in many places, including under rocks, in drains, gardens, parks, and even urban areas. They are most active at night and are often heard calling during or after rain. During the breeding season, they gather near ponds, puddles, or ditches to lay their eggs.
These frogs help keep insect numbers down, as they like to eat ants, termites, and other small bugs. Because they are so good at surviving in different places, you might even find them in city neighbourhoods!
