The Common Hill Myna (Gracula religiosa) is a native resident of Singapore's mature forests and forest edges. Unlike the more urban Myna species such as the Javan or Common Myna, these birds spend their time high up in the tree canopy and rarely come down to the ground.

The Common Hill Myna features glossy, jet-black plumage and a thick, bright orange-red bill. Additionally, it possesses striking, fleshy yellow flaps of skin, known as wattles, on the back of its head and nape.

Habitat and ecology
They are primarily frugivores (fruit eaters) but will also hunt for insects or even vertebrates. They are highly social and often fly in pairs or small flocks above the forest canopy.
