The Singapore Kopsia (Kopsia singapurensis) is a rare, native evergreen shrub or small tree. In the wild, these plants are mostly restricted to the highly threatened freshwater swamp forests, making them a special find.

The Singapore Kopsia features white petals characterized by a striking, crimson-red center often referred to as the "eye." Framing these prominent blooms are leathery, dark green leaves that grow in structured, opposite pairs directly along the stem.
Habitat and ecology
They thrive in the waterlogged, and acidic soils of swamp forests. They are highly vulnerable to land-use changes. They are increasingly planted in local parks for conservation.

Despite the name, the Singapore Kopsia is not strictly exclusive to Singapore! It is endemic to both Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, meaning it is found nowhere else in the world.
