The Yellow Flame tree features a wide, umbrella-shaped canopy that becomes spectacularly covered in brilliant, crinkly yellow flowers during its blooming seasons. Following the flowering phase, look up to spot its flat, woody seed pods, which transition to a highly distinct copper-red or purplish-brown color as they mature. The foliage itself consists of beautiful, feather-like (bi-pinnate) leaves made up of multiple small, oblong leaflets that give the entire canopy a soft, textured appearance.
Habitat and ecology
This tree can be commonly found along coasts, near mangroves or occasionally even in limestone forests. This tree has a deep root system that makes it drought-tolerant, making it a popular urban street tree.
