The Crimson Dropwing (Trithemis aurora) may be one of the smaller dragonfly species at a mere wingspan of 32-35mm, but they make up for their size with brilliant crimson hues.
Identifying features

Male Crimson Dropwings display variable coloration depending on their maturity, starting as yellow and developing into a striking pink or red with red eyes. The female features a light yellow to brown body and is distinguished by the distinct black markings running along the sides of her abdomen.

Habitat and ecology
Crimson Dropwings are commonly found in open and sunny freshwater habitats.
